Two Times Canceled in Last 10 Years, The Drums Finally Will Perform at Jakarta!

Ten years of long wait has paid off. Fans' desperation from two times of cancelation will finally be over. The American New York-based indie band that has been long awaited will set their foot in Jakarta. Thus, the New Yorker indie band will satisfy the wait of the fans through a concert.

The Drums is going to spark Jakarta with their concert The Drums Asia Tour 2024: Live in Jakarta. This tour is known as the celebration of their newest album, “Jonny” which was released on October 13, 2023. 

With Plainsong Live as the promoter, The Drums will perform at the Workshop, SCBD, South Jakarta on Thursday, May 9. Their concert in May is the absolute answer for is the answer to the stumbling block of the New York-based band to hold concerts in Indonesia twice in the last ten years.

The director of Plainsong, Ferry Dermawan, claimed that the performance of Jonathan Pierce and friends is a long wait. Ferry Dermawan also confirmed and admitted that promoters failed to bring The Drums performing in Indonesia four years ago. Via pers release accepted by VOI, he explained that the cancellation four years ago happened due to COVID-19 outbreak in 2020.

"We had time to make a contract with The Drums for the 2020 Joyland Festival Jakarta. Unfortunately at that time the COVID-19 pandemic was happening," Stated Ferry Dermawan through a press release received by VOI, Sunday, April 21.

"In early 2024, they informed us about The Drums Asia Tour 2024 plan. We surely welcome it!" continued Ferry.
