Catfish and the Bottlemen Sticks with the Same Sound in ‘Showtime’

On 23 February 2024, the Welsh indie rock band, Catfish and the Bottlemen released a new single after five years. It is an exhilarating comeback after their unofficial hiatus since their last album ‘The Balance’ which was released in 2019. With two members left within the band, Catfish has successfully created new work embodied in the new single. The single entitled ‘Showtime’ is 4.40 minutes long and brings the spirit of “back to the graft again” through its lyrics. Although the song is freshly released, it comes with the same sound. The style within the song composition sounds no different from their other songs. After five years of hiatus, the new single does not show any breakthrough nor come back with significant changes in the musical elements. On the other hand, it is indeed a relieving news for the old fans since they are still sticking with the same composition, the same sound, and the same market. It also gives hope to the fans that this band still continues on the path after the hard time of silence and the split within the band. This comeback is followed by the news that Catfish and the Bottlemen will headline the Reading and Leeds Festival.
